Look at me sitting there in my new chaise lounge feeling grateful for how it came into my life!

This morning I was feeling a bit disgruntled.  Yesterday I didn’t feel well and this morning I was doing my best be cheerful when my “true love” told me that we were spending too much money on electricity.  “We need to cut back.”  “What?  Not use my electric toothbrush?”

I needed a boost so I put on my coat, pulgged in my ear phone, dialed the number and went for a walk in the winter sunshine.  I began listening to a conference call with my two favorite mentors in the whole world, Marnie Pehrson and Leslie Householder, on the topic, “Heaven Wants to Help You Live Your Purpose.”

Just a block away I came across a chaise lounge chucked into a trash can.  As I passed it, I thought, “ I want a chaise lounge.  In fact, last fall when I threw away a flimsy one the grandchildren had enjoyed for several seasons, I thought of what I wanted.  It would be sturdy but comfortable and easy to adjust.  What is wrong with that one?  Dare I ask?”

I walked on for another block when it became too noisy to hear the call.  Someone was jack hammering cement.  I turned around.  On my way back, there was the lounge again.  I decided to check it out.  There were a couple stains on the pillow (I hadn’t even ordered a pillow.) Surely it wouldn’t be stealing if I just took it.  No, I rang the doorbell and asked.  Yes, she was happy for me to take it.  I lugged it home and set it up in my wintery back yard.  I sat down and looked out at the snow capped mountains, grateful for my new chaise lounge and how it had come to me.

I listened to Leslie and Marnie’s call the whole time.  I wonder how many of the laws of the universe had to work together for me to have my new chaise lounge, even before spring.  Surely the Law of Gestation was at work.  The Law of Rhythm brought the lounge to the lady who gave it up to me and now I hope she gets something better.   The Vacuum Law of Prosperity was put into motion when I threw the old one away and thought of what I wanted.  I put no restrictions on how it would come so the Universe took care of the rest. What do you think?  Were universal laws at work or was it just chance?  It made me laugh and reminded me that I am an opulent woman, rich in every way.

Whether there are children in your home or not, the summer  season changes things in our lives. We are more apt to vacation.  We are out and about more, meeting and greeting people.  We are more apt to be spontaneous, more apt to party.

On the other hand, life can be more hectic. I remember looking forward to having my children home from school so we could do some things on purpose.  We would work together in the morning, getting the house in order, and then go play together.  We would have picnics and hike in the mountains.  We would have mini classes on manners and learning to keep our rooms and stuff in order.  The list goes on.

Then reality would hit.  It was hard to go to bed at a reasonable hour since the sun didn’t go down.  The children loved being with their friends, even playing night games at times.  Then it was hard to get up and keep that orderly home and predictable routine I dreamed of.

There were softball practices and games that interfered with our mini lessons and side trips.  Before long, I was happy to just keep everyone fed and relatively clean.  We had fun cheering for our ball players.  We did have one evening a week together for a picnic or a lesson.  There was the annual trip to Grandma’s house in another state.  We lived by the Law of Rhythm all summer until our school schedule predicted order once more.

The Law of Rhythm tells us that it is normal for life’s events to flow up and down. Once we accept that fact, it is easier to let go of expecting to control everything.  When we resist the truth of this law, we create pot holes where it is easy to get stuck in the down and spend a lot of energy just to get back out again.

Summer is a good time to relax and enjoy the gentle flow of events, knowing that what goes down will come up again.  Breathe deep, drink cold lemonade and laugh a lot.  Routine will be upon us soon enough.

Simple Self-Coaching Tip:

Create a family motto to help you get through the “downs” and expect the next “up.”  “Our family sticks together in the ups and downs.  What can I do for you?”  “This doesn’t feel good.  There must be something wonderful ahead.”   Talk with your family, spouse or friend and see what you can do to lift one another’s spirits and look for more “ups.”  It’s fun!

You have things to do that nobody else can do. Wait!  You don’t think so?  You are sick and tired of the rat race and nobody cares?  Who has time to dream?

Whoa there!  Listen for a minute.  You don’t know me, but I might know you. You are a woman with important things to do.  You have dreams to fulfill.  You have many qualities you aren’t even aware of.  All those qualities and your experiences make up the unique woman you are.

I have had lots of experience coaching women.  This is what I know about women.

  • You have an unfulfilled dream.
  • You deserve to be treated with respect.
  • You want a circle of true friends.
  • You want to be part of a happy family.
  • You want to laugh and be happy.
  • There is a little girl inside of you who wants to be loved.
  • You deserve money to spend any way you want.
  • You want to contribute to the world in a way that matters.

Does this remind you of you? Every point contains a bit of who you are.  Of course, there is more.

What if you could see these desires fulfilled by living Universal Laws?  It is possible and you can learn to do it.  Here is how my dream started.

As a little girl my mother encouraged me to recite a poem on stage at the church talent show.  She helped me memorize “At Breakfast Time” by Edgar A. Guest.  She taught me to speak loudly, hold my head up and face the audience.  I was able to do it just that way.  I even won a quarter.  My little heart nearly popped out of my Sunday dress.

That was a defining moment for me.  At a very young age,

I realized that I could do hard things if  I really wanted to.

I am not your mom, but I have created a place where you can go for inspiration and support. I created Women Loving Life Worldwide for women just like you; women who have something more to do–to be better at something or try something new.  We are here to encourage you and help you accomplish your dreams, big or small.  You will even find other women cheering you on.

Self-Coaching Tip:

Ponder about the first item on the list above.  Answer the question, “What is one of my unfulfilled dreams?” Play with it; dream about it; write it down and come back here for more encouragement and ‘how to.’  You deserve it.
